Confirmation Mass for Adults

The Diocesan wide Confirmation Mass for Adults will be celebrated on Pentecost Sunday at 4:00 pm at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart in Knoxville.

Bishop Stika requires that candidates meet the following criteria:

1. They are baptized adult Catholics who have never been confirmed and are parishioners in good standing.
2. They have an understanding of the Sacrament of Confirmation (properly instructed). [The sacrament of confirmation confers a character. By it the baptized continue their path of Christian initiation. They are enriched with the gift of the Holy Spirit and are more closely linked to the Church. They are made strong and more firmly obliged by word and deed to witness to Christ and to spread and defend the faith.]
3. They are properly disposed and are able to renew their baptismal promises.
